Fall has fallen, the pool is closed, the weather is cooling off, and the trees are showing just the slightest touch of auburn, gold, and orange in their foliage.
Life slows down a bit in the French household. I start baking again, (hide the scales) and nosing around the house for projects that I've put off all summer.
My first project of Fall was to paint my out dated kitchen table and chairs. At first glance, I thought it would be a day project, but in truth it took three---sanding, (a little) a coat of Kilz, two coats of paint, and several coats of polyurethane later and viola!
My next job is to plaster and texture my kitchen walls and paint them. I'm thinking a dusty, olive green for the top, a darker olive khaki color for the paneling below the chair rail, and black chalk paint on the door so the grand kids (and Ga-Ga) can have some fun!
My husband has vacation in two weeks, which will be perfect timing to help. Can you say "Honey-d0" list!?
I love this time of year! Happy Fall all!!
BEFORE--Anyone else have the 1990's Shaker style dining table? Very sturdy, but out dated.
AFTER---I still have to remove the cushion from the chair and staple the new fabric over the cushion--I had fun picking the pattern out. I antiqued the chairs as well, which added a day to the project, but I love the way it turned out!
