From my understanding, unless someone is color blind, most people see vivid color. Color is in everything, everywhere, all over the world. Color is in gemstones, in the midnight sky, in flourishing landscapes, in works of art. Color can be a source of great joy or bitter conflict---the iris of eyes, the sunset, the sunrise, an ominous sky, a vast ocean, a nation’s flag, a funeral umbrella, the color of skin, the color of money, the color of blood.
Color evokes emotions both light and dark. There is living color in the dreams we hope come true and bleak, stark blackness in the nightmares we long to forget. I came to realize at a very young age though, that apparently I am the only one I know that sees the actual color of a person.
Hope you enjoyed another sneak peek from my new y/a novel, "Rock Angel." Have a blessed weekend all!
