MINION PUMPKINS!

My grandson Landon turned four years old this week and is having a "A-spicable Me"  (aka "Despicable Me") birthday party on Sunday.

I ordered the Bouncy House and painted a Minion pumpkin for him today---can't wait to party!

As I was painting his pumpkin Landon came up to the table and said, "Ga-Ga...you're art-tastic!!" It made my day.

FRUIT TATOO~

I jazzed up Eddie Jett's snack for school today~

Hopefully, it'll make his teachers smile. They are such beautiful ladies---we appreciate them so much!

FRUTIE-TATTOO-TIE!!

PUMPKIN FLAVORED EVERYTHING!

I just bought pumpkin spice bagels at Walmart!  Too bad I don't run marathons, because I'm getting ready to carb up.  My friend turned me on to Greek yogurt cream cheese though so it balances!

I love all of the pumpkin-ey, spicey, cinnamon-ey, Fall flavors~

NEW FORREST FRENCH DEMO SONG--PRISON CELL

Here's Forrest's newest demo, "Prison Cell."

Dont' worry...he's not planning on spending his life in the big house.  The song can mean many things.  It's lonely---like a person that's built up walls, and trapped by bad decisions in life...at least that's what I feel.  And the artist himself, told me I was on the right track.

Enjoy!

CAN YOU SPOT THE GRAMMY?

Forrest is heading back out to David Teegarden's Studio to record an acoustic version of two more songs he has written over the summer.  I'm excited to see how they turn out.

The clip below was back this spring at Forrest's first visit to his studio. It sure is a cool, state of the art joint---complete with  a Grammy statuette!  Can you spot it?  I love the cameo of the very amazing dude that garnered it as well---Mr. David Teegarden.

Forrest is a happy camper today.

DANE DeHAAN---"The Place Beyond the Pines"

I am a watcher of any movie Bradley Cooper's blue eyes have been on the set of, so I set up camp on the couch last night and settled in for, "The Place Beyond the Pines."

Although, I am a big Ryan Gosling fan as well, it took me a while to fully commit to the story line.  And then Dane DeHaan, who played Jason, an introverted young teen who was searching for answers about his father, came on screen.  I became engrossed with his vulnerable, lonely character.

The very last scene choked me up so much that I became an emotional wreck for at least five solid minutes.  I'm talking, crying-into-the-couch cushion stuff!

Dane DeHaan---what a great actor.   He reminds me of a young Brad Pit/Benicio Del Toro.

"The Place Beyond the Pines"---definitely worth a Friday night in front of the big screen t.v., especially for those of us who had a missing biological father dynamic in our family life.  Good stuff.

Dane DeHaan's character in "The Place Beyond the Pines" was extremely touching.  I am a big fan of this actor now~

FORREST'S NEWEST SONG--"PRISON CELL"

Forrest has started writing again.  This one is Johnny Cash style---he's ordering a bunch of black and going on a jail house tour!

Seriously, I do love the vibe of this song.  Whether you take the "prison cell" literally or figuratively, the song is sad and lonely.  I think music should make you feel emotions---happy, sad. lonely, longing.  Good songs tell a story.

He wrote this one the other morning, and recorded it in the same day.  Enjoy, "Prison Cell."

I'm off to go wash "Johnny Cash's" laundry now.  Have a wonderful Saturday friends!

HOSPITAL WRIST BANDS AND CARNIVAL RIDES~

As much as we'd all like to think the world is all cotton candy and carousel rides we know it's not.  In the midst of all the excitement of taking my four sweet grand children to our local Fall Festival yesterday evening, I had a sobering moment.

My husband was helping all the kids get their wrist bands in order to board the amusement rides, and excitement was in the smoked turkey leg scented air.  Happy shrieks and thrilling screams were zipping through the air as the community was in full celebration mode downtown.

It was Eddie Jett's turn to hold out his arm for his purple and white polka dotted,  festive wrist band.  As the ticket girl started to try to secure the adhesive around his teeny, tiny wrist I saw the color drain from Eddie Jett's precious face.  A look of concern and seriousness took him over, and he began to cry very hard.  It only took a few seconds for my daughter and I to realize that Eddie Jett thought they were strapping a hospital band on his arm.  Eddie Jett thought he was on is way to tests and sharp needles.  Getting blood drawn, (which is a routine occurrence for him) and having IV's inserted always take many, many sticks and lots of tears and sweat because of his very small veins that collapse and roll.

My heart sunk as I tried to console our sweet angel.  The lovely girl that was helping at the ticket booth suggested that we put it around his ankle where his sock would cushion and desensitize his skin from the festive paper band so he would forget it was there.

Within a few minutes Eddie Jett was back into happy mode with the rest of his miniature cousins, and zipping down The Fun Slide with his Uncle Forrest.  A big smile returned to his innocent face as he forgot all about the trauma of being fitted with the daunting wrist band.

I thank God every day for all of my family.  I thank God every day for giving our family Eddie Jett.  I thank God that I know that one day Eddie Jett will receive a perfect body in Christ as we all will.  His journey, is our journey, and we pray together through the moments the journey leads us to hospitals and Dr. offices---and cherish the times that it leads us to carnival rides and cotton candy~

FROM MAMA-RAZZI TO GA-GA-RAZZI <3

I've gone from being a Mama-razzi, running around frantically capturing all the memorable moments of my kid's lives with every electronic image recording device imaginable, to becoming an official, Ga-Ga-Razzi!

I stake out every family event, skulking around corners, and popping out from behind bushes to get the best shots of my sweet grand babies in action.

Hey, as Steven Tyler sings it best..."I don't wanna miss a thiiiiing!!"

We had the best time at our home-town Fall Festival last night.  Perfect weather, lots of fun rides, decadent fair food, and of course, some of the cutest little toddlers in Wagoner county!

Baby Annabelle's very first carnival ride ever.  Safe to say, she loved it!

Good day, and good night Coweta Fall Festival!  See you at the parade!!

MORNING WALK WITH THE REFUSE TRUCK~

That vulnerable feeling you get when you roll out of bed for your peaceful morning walk, and the Refuse truck ends up following you around the entire block at your heels making pick ups---those suckers are LOUD!!

Hope everyone has a beautiful and most productive day in whatever you endeavor!

THE BLUE MAN GROUP WAS INCREDIBLE!

Color me happy!  Forrest got tickets at work for The Blue Man group and took me to see them at the Performing Arts Center in Tulsa last night.  They were just incredible!

The show was like the coolest independent film/art show/rock concert ever!  They also had us smiling and laughing the entire time as well with the humor that was incorporated.

If you ever get the chance, go see them!!  Awesome experience!

The Blue Man group rocked!

Forrest, Monty and I at the show~

Me and my sister Faith at the "erforming Center"  aka--The Performing Arts Center in Tulsa, OK.  Beautiful theater!  Love the shows there!
