My daughter Jessica works part time for the best chicken place in Oklahoma. Diners seriously come from out of state for Roy's delicious, boneless chicken chicken chunks and creamy, cool coleslaw. It's addicting.
Last night, Jessica dropped her kiddos off at my house so she and her husband could have a date night to celebrate their anniversary which is Monday. She decided to drop by Roy's to grab a tea. As she pulled up to the back lot, she heard a huge crash. She ran from the kitchen to the dining and found that an s.u.v had crashed through two brick walls! It was sitting in a pile of ruble and smoking in the middle of the dining area!
I'm proud the surveillance video shows that she was one of the first responders to jump in and start throwing flower arrangements and bricks from the bottom of the truck to make sure no one was under the vehicle. I'm thankful to the good Lord that no one was injured. The video also shows a woman with her tray of chicken walking by a booth directly in the path of the crash. She fell to the side as the vehicle came barreling through, the truck missing her by inches.
This is actually the third time in 10 years that the restaurant has had a vehicle drive right through it....Roy's Chicken in Coweta, Oklahoma---so good that people make their OWN drive-thru!
And for the record, Jessica said even with an ambulance, three police cars and a large s.u.v. sitting in a pile of bricks and mortar the middle of the chicken joint, people were still pulling to the drive thru window for chicken!
The owner gave chicken out for free for the rest of the night until they could get the wall boarded up~
Roy's Chicken---Chicken so good patrons make their own drive-thru!
